This game has single handily given me a really bad addiction really quick... its sooooooo good.
Played the first 7 levels of the demo and after the mechanics started to click with me paid for the full game becuase I knew this was going to be my new time waster on my phone :3
I love the dice mechanics, I love the way you level up and the way items can effect the dice and the ability's they offer you.
and love that if I'm in the middle of a roll and I need to close it to do something else. it will pick back up with the dice roll you made when you reopen the game and continue.
this game seems stunningly simple, yet it's very deeply complex. :3
Hey, guys. I'm really enjoying the game and Blursed is my favorite mode rn. But I have an issue I think.
When I unlocked all modes, characters, items and etc. through special option, it didn't unlock T10 items and higher in Pick mode. Is there any ways to open them?
I'm playing on Android and bought full version of the game.
Quick note, am on Android, Frail Edges curse (damage x2 top and bottom if not shielded this turn) doesn't take into consideration Preparation blessing which shields you at the beginning of the first turn.
Your reasoning for not letting rerolls beyond 1 is insane. Just let us count it as a loss and reroll. I need specific curses to help with some unlocks but for some psychopathic reason I cant.
Hi Tann, i’m really eager to play your game. Gameplay mechanics are really well thoughts, and innovative. Any plan to release it on iOS ? Thanks for your answer
Is it possible you can make a endless mode ... Not the cursed or blursed modes, just a endless mode that goes on until you can't ... otherwise I don't think I can have to much more fun in this ... I will say the raid mode is my favorite rn because of the big party.
The big problem is that that kind of "endless mode" requires limitless difficulty escalation. The encounters in the game seem to be hardcoded (ie, there's one at a specific level with a Bramble and a Rat, rather than Bramble and Rat being random enemies that can be paired in any arbitrary encounter). The Lich always comes with some Bones and not Imps or Slates or whatever, because that's what the Lich encounter has. And so on.
Maybe the game could add enemies from different encounters together, e.g. Level 21 could have a level 13 encounter added to a level 7 encounter or something, then 22 does 14 and 8, etc. But that seems pretty hard to balance or playtest; it could probably work when both encounters are straightforward, but plenty have special design gimmicks that might not interact straightforwardly.
I'm a roguelike completionist and a game designer, and I dreamt of exactly this game for years.
I'm so happy that you made it and made it so well. This was a blast to 100% (well, i'm still missing a secret achievement, could it be related to the "error" enemy?).
Please give the maker of this game your money, they deserve it!
I enjoyed the free version a lot so I bought the full version and enjoyed it even more! The game is casually addictive and random in a good way. Various game modes and challenges are very entertaining.
My name is Gabriel Turcato. I'm a native Brazilian gamer and translator, providing services in the language pair English <> Portuguese (Brazil). I would like to inform that I'm available to translate Slice & Dice from English into Portuguese (Brazil), if you wish so. I think that it would be great for both os us, because I can apply my skills to translate something that I really enjoy, and your game will be able to reach a greater public, which can turn into more profit for you. Feel free to contact me through my email if you have any questions: gpturcato@yahoo.com.br.
I was just wondering whether there were any plans to add some colour blind options? I have lost characters several times in battle when they are poisoned as I struggle to tell the difference between the red health and the green poison icons.
I was also thinking, just as an idea, it would be quite useful if you could drag the dice around once they have been rolled, just as another way to help organise each roll and see what combinations would work together before deciding which to re-roll or lock in. I'm aware of the double click to arrange them in a column, but I just think sometimes a different way to organise them could be quite useful.
Last thought, when selecting a new character, if you want to compare between the old and new of a certain class then sometimes with certain characters the old characters dice panel opens and overlays the new option, rather than going above or under, so a direct comparison isn't possible. You have to flick back and forth between the old and the new. I was just thinking it'd be nice to have that direct comparison open above or bellow (where relevant). I hope you get what I mean, it's not the easiest thing to explain.
Have had a bug on mac twice now where upon crashing it fully wipes all my data and starts me on a blank acct : / Tann is there a built in shortcut to unlock all items/chars? (found it) Love the game to death, ty <3
I want to like Raid Mode, but the UI in the inventory is broken, no matter what UI size you choose, and I don't see a way to look at all the available heroes. I tried size -4 and it's still unusable.
who else keep coming back every 2-3 weeks hoping if there’s any update info about iOS/iPadOS updates?!
I would definitely pay more then I paid for win/Mac if it’s the only reason to get it in AppStore! Love this genius game but I hate my wife’s android phone :)
Love the game! When playing loot mode Easy is too hard and Heaven is too easy. I really wish there was an unfair equivalent where you could pick blessings adding up to 10. I know this doesn't really fit with the same difficulty settings over all modes but I think this addition would make loot mode difficult but fair.
Fun game but I thought Lich was oppressive in the demo. Then I met Hexia in the full game!!
How are you even supposed to win when they are so many chances to get get nailed with a bad run?!
I like rogue-likes for the idea of perma-death/rng... But it seems like the game is only scaled for the highest end of heroes and item combinations. It's practically proven by the challenge modes requiring you to take on curses rather than scaling up encounters.
So many of the heroes are just plain bad, none of their dice sides provide any value.
I really like the gambler because it feels balanced. Especially when you give him the Ace but there needs to be a way to make them viable and not just taking the same heroes every run because the other options are just terrible.
Also, some of the bosses passives are just not fun. Full damage reflection with no cap? If I hit for 20dmg then I take 3x my life total in damage while I still haven't even scratched the total damage needed to win the round.
Some bosses battles end up with me needing to put in 50 damage total and my damage output is limited to about 7 and the opponents are putting out 26 damage.
It just feels really not fun to be getting battered with no chance to win.
My suggestion would be to rework some of the early heroes, make them more viable. Give better scaled up items in the end game, lower the odds of getting gimmic items; or just find some way (incorporate machine learning) to have the game dynamically scale (deal items, heroes, and encounters) in a way that more viable builds exist and the game isn't limited to only a few solutions.
It just feels like the Sub-Hard difficulties don't have enough solutions to complete a full run, especially around encounter 16+.
The game just becomes insurmountable and feels bad.
Other than that, I have had a lot of fun with the game! I beat Hard difficulty in the Demo but I have yet to complete a single run in the full game. Couldn't even beat easy mode.
The game is not that difficult. I'm not master of this type of game, but I still won the custom classic mode and custom mode on hard difficulty. Even got 3X and 4X achievements in custom mode (4X: choose 4 heroes of the same color to win hard game). The balance of the game is well, and the process of game is indeed not that easy, and sometimes need some luck. Because the player has the ways of healing and defense, it is normal that the damage is not as high as that of the monster.
Monsters have healing, summoning, better abilities, more hp... I don't know what "custom" is because I play the normal game and it's damn hard and haven't beat level 20 once on normal.
How are you even supposed to win when they are so many chances to get get nailed with a bad run?!
The idea is that you get good at managing risk. That’s the key thing in this game. Do you take the item that is useful now, but worthless later; or do you take the item that does nothing, but can lead to powerful synergies? The answer to questions like this is it depends on a lot of factors.
I like rogue-likes for the idea of perma-death/rng… But it seems like the game is only scaled for the highest end of heroes and item combinations.
This is correct. You need to find good synergies in order to win. If you have a trapper who can apply the vulnerable status, you want to find ways to deal many small instances of damage in a turn, such as the herbalist’s vine spell. If you have a berserker who deals lots of damage to themselves, you want to find ways to give them shields or self-heal, so that they can mitigate the self-damage. If you just randomly pick things that you think are individually strong, you will struggle.
So many of the heroes are just plain bad, none of their dice sides provide any value.
I think there are almost no bad heroes. They just excel at different things, and like I mentioned above, you need to play to their strengths. Ludus has high base values, so find good keywords to apply to them. Valkyrie can prevent your heroes from dying, so combine that with abilities that “require” death, such as the ghast’s mana gain + death side.
Also, some of the bosses passives are just not fun. Full damage reflection with no cap? If I hit for 20dmg then I take 3x my life total in damage while I still haven’t even scratched the total damage needed to win the round.
Some bosses battles end up with me needing to put in 50 damage total and my damage output is limited to about 7 and the opponents are putting out 26 damage.
The thing is you have an immense tactical advantage over the monsters: You know what they’re going to do, but you get to interfere. Sure, the monsters are going to deal 26 damage if you let them. But you can choose your targets so that you kill one or two of the damage dealers first. Now maybe you’re taking only 13 damage, and you make sure that the ones you take out are the ones that would have killed your heroes. Next turn, you do the same thing, except you still have your full team but the monsters have lost some people, so it’s easier than it was on turn 1.
You have to be strategic with how you play your turns. I mostly play on cursed mode, where you get more and more curses (debuffs) as the run continues. On many turns, if I just do nothing, my whole party would die. But just using the tools available to me, I can almost always figure out a way to keep everyone alive and make some progress against the monsters at the same time. It’s always going to look dire until you actually play things out.
My two tips for you:
Use the undo feature A LOT. Play out every turn in multiple orders to see which sequence gives you the best result. As you get better, you won’t have to do this as much, but it’s an incredibly useful learning tool.
Think carefully about when to keep and when to reroll. I think a lot of people don’t reroll enough, keeping 1 damage on the gambler when they should be pushing for 2 at least. And then others reroll way too much, trying to get the perfect roll at every opportunity, and then end up rolling blanks.
The only way to get the PC and Android versions automatically is to buy the game on itch. Google Play Store doesn't make cross-platform licensing easy and they also take a larger cut thank itch.

Slice & Dice is right in my sweet spot. The Hard Mode feels well balanced and the variety of character dice feels infinite. I know going in that my party will die, but I'm never sure when and it doesn't feel unfair. Well done!
I just encountered level 0 heroes using a curse, and I don't see any info about them anywhere. Are they randomly generated or is there a list of level 0 heroes?
Sorry if this has been resolved elsewhere on this forum, but after downloading the Windows version, I am unable to launch it. I have extracted files using WinRAR and try to launch normally and as administrator and the application/.exe file never launches. Any tips?
The only way I've been able to get it to launch is by launching the application thru WinRAR after opening "dice-win" thru WinRAR. I feel like there should be a better way to just launch from desktop, but for now I guess this is the work-around

Hello. I think your game is a banger, bought it for Android and it's saving my sanity in my long trips to the city.
I have a friend who I think would greatly enjoy and appreciate Slice and Dice, but has only iOS. Do you have any plans on an iOS release?
Thank you for your time and effort.
I bought and installed the 2.0.0 version of this game. Recently play store said the newest version 2.0.1 came out.
Is there a patch note, change log or something?
They are the same

why is it the demo when i bought the full version and using the full version download link
demo is a mode in the full game, click “modes” on the title screen
question: is it possible to transfer saves over from the demo to the full game?

Love the game!
just did something i am disapointed didnt have an aechivement/secret attached.
had two chars with the selected character uses it's dice again and having them each reactivate the other in a chain doesnt do anything :(
Love the game! Is there a way to copy my save file from my pc to my phone?
book -> stats -> unlocks -> copy/load achievements
thank you
The game is beautiful in every way. Small issue though - I cannot change the default sound device for it. No matter what it's stuck to Windows System.
I have a bug on windows, game is difficult to play cause I can't see my dice faces, but they do appear when I select them. Anyone have a solution?
Have had a bug on mac twice now where upon crashing it fully wipes all my data and starts me on a blank acct : /

Equipping items is also broken. Trying to equip an item on the first red hero causes the item to vanish and have no equip effect.

Me as well… :(
... So is the 2.0 version its own separate game? I can download this one but have to buy the 2.0 version again?
Kind of a bait and switch, I bought the game to get access to the 2.0 stuff in development, and now that it's out I can't get the full finished build.
Pretty sure you are supposed to have 2.0, you can check in game... 4th button on the left (below settings almanac and language menu)

Hey, does anybody know, if I purchase the game on itch, can I play the full version on android or would I need to buy it on google play?
For anybody looking for an answer to this: yup, you can. Just remember to copy achievements from the google play demo, before reinstalling.
