Great game, also think Hexia needs a nerf, haven't uncovered other final bosses other than dragon and hexia, which is extremely difficult without a broken combo. 4.9 stars
I love this game and have put so many hours in to it... its crazy... there are so many awesome decision making moments and opportunities that are easy to miss but if you find them... just wow its so fun.
Hexia is way way too hard though, just absurdly difficult compared to any other option. She starts with way too many enemies and her skills are all so much more impactful than any other final boss... summoning a demon is just such a game ender and why does she get to deal so much damage to you with just her passives? I've really lost so many good hard mode runs just because I keep running in to hexia, I have the hard mode clear unlocked on pc because I totally steamrolled through a dragon on my first attempt... gotten three awesome runs in a row to final boss on hard mode and I get shut down instantly by hexia... inflict pain, 4 petrify, summoning a DEMON when she already starts with 4 imps and they like to summon bones... my issues with hexia have taken up more words than my glowing review of this astounding game that you NEED to own if you've ever even glanced in the direction of a dice game and felt even mildly interested.
Basically you need this game, and eff hexia, if you fight her and win, celebrate.
don't block me I just want to give some advice, in my opinion the balancing mode should be reviewed, so as to play at least 2/3 levels, otherwise it doesn't represent a "real session" of the game, some of the player can get defeat in some of the previous level in a classic run
great game except for unfair, which sucks complete cock and is completely RNG-dependent; average run has you getting washed before level 10 and even with a crazy good build and items you're 99% going to get trashed on round ~15 by some arbitrary bullshit like a 7-mob fight that has 2 alphas w/ stone health and monster HP+++.
everything else is awesome but unfair needs a nerf; and no, it doesn't matter if the point is that it's supposed to be like that, because the way it is isn't fun.
This game is amazing! It is quite simple and the flow of user interactions is very smooth and streamlined. Nevertheless it has a surprising depth in gameplay and requires tactical and combinatorial thinking to be able to complete a full run - that and some plain old luck. The user interface initially looks a bit wacky but it turns out to be extremely clear, with colors and precise wording communicating all the important facts. Me and my son have a lot of fun playing this game, actually more than I expected. A gem of a tactical dice game. Huge respect to the developers. And special thanks for making it available on several platforms.
Was enjoying the game but found the moments where the game decides to explicitly tell you you're enjoying the game wrong to be extremely condescending and annoying. e.g. when you try to refresh curses.
It's ok to design games with a specific experience in mind - but why even include the button if you're just going to call the user dumb for clicking on it, & give them a little bit of homework to make the button work again. Seems in extremely poor taste.
How to inteprete Poet sprite: a) Dude with nose in the books b) Dude in weird square helmet c) Dude in bell like helmet d) some weird pop-culture reference I don't understand
it was also very confusing to me but then I watched a movie called Strawberry Mansion and I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to that. Great movie, I’d recommend watching :)
I played the demo and then purchased the game. I deleted all demo files, but when I open the purchased download it still says demo when I launch the game. Anyone else have this issue?
amazing game dude! Hope you re working on iOS version cause I hate asking my wife for her work phone to play this.. I want to play it from my couch and bed! Hail the master
I stg I check back every day to see if it’s been released for iOS. Tann, you’ve created something really special here, and I know you’re hard at work for patches and updates and everything, so I just want to say, keep up the good work.
Awesome game! I've long itched for great mobile games to play on the go, and this game absolutely fits that. It's been a blast to progressively get better and play harder difficulties (and curses) and is _so_ easy to pick up and put down.
Something that I was also astounded by is the polish. At first, I saw it in simple interactions like omitting turn confirmations for non-effective moves, but over time there were more and more nice polishes that just makes the experience even better.
I was sitting with a friend who watched Northernlion play which got us both hooked.
I love your game! I bought it on mobile a few months ago and I´m still playing it consistently now. It´s amazing to see all the different combinations and builds you can achieve with the wide variety of characters and items you can find.
One of the best, if not THE best phone game I have ever played.
Amazing game. Both me and my son played the demo, on Windows and on (ungoogled) Android, and I just bought the full version for both of us. Respect for making a cross platform game and providing an APK for simple installation.
Finally beat Unfair after ~20 consecutive losses. What a ride.
It's crazy when I saw how some managed to streak on Unfair!?
Awesome game. It's great how many OP combinations there are, for both the player and enemies. Small enemies+ is deceptively a run killer for example, if you end up fighting a gravestone.
I just got a draw against Hexia, literally rolling dice on my last guy (A wanderer), hoping I could roll two 2/6 chances at his "Era" Attack (The only thing he could do that could do enough damage to kill the last enemy)...And got it on the last possible turn with Pain on it. XD In a final boss battle with multiple heroic sacrifices, it ended with one final one!
I'm seeing this game on Ceres Fauna channel, it looks really awesome. I just played the free demo as well, i really wanna buy it, but to be completely honest i'll wait for a steam, epic or something else release since i know i lose emails and files, so i'd rather have it in a library.
I know on platform devs needs to pay the platform itself as well, but this game is definetly worth 10-15$ or more, so it would not be a problem to get it on steam and pay a lil bit more tbf.
If you bought it through here you should have gotten the Android .apk file along with the purchase, you get that onto your Android device and open it up on that to install it as the full app. (There is no iPhone version.)
Is there a way to get that offer the other way around? I just bought it on the google store before I realized there is a PC version. It was my first android purchase in 5+ years, I enjoyed the demo so much.
Been watching so much on this game, and am incredibly interested in it. Looked through old posts and saw Steam was on the list of releases, any word on when that might happen? Only reason I'm holding out on buying is to not have to pay twice when the Steam release drops!
Hi, Absolutely fantastic game you've made! I bought it on my Android and wonder if there is a way to get it to my PC as well? excluding to buy it a second time.
Any plans for a color blind mode? Some items are only usable on some hero colors but a heroes color is not stated anywhere on the heroes in plain text. Just a hover over the hero class which said "Student, blue hero" would be enough.
For Linux users: both the demo and release worked fine for me with proton: GE-Proton7-41. But should probably work fine with normal Steam version.
To unzip it (seems that it was zipped with some "interesting" software, because it hardcoded the / to be \, which only Windows uses? unzip dice-win.zip -d "game directory"
To launch the game: Proton path run game path Ex: /usr/bin/proton run SliceDice/SliceAndDice.exe
Really great and addictive game, I love the very distinct classes and playstyles as well as the amount of control some items give you in creating amazing builds. Each enemy makes you think differently in tackling them as well as the sheer amount of keywords creating many engaging solutions for each fight.
[MILD SPOILERS AHEAD] However, I find the Hexia fight incredibly unfun as they seem to counter most builds and playstyles, which is so unmotivating as they are a common final boss you go up against. They have petrify to punish you for getting strong classes, spawning to punish damage over time, mana burn to counter any spell builds, pain mirror which forces you to run poison or range, unless you have infinite revives or valk (which got instantly petrified regardless).
It just seems like your run is instantly over the moment you face them even with a powerful build, when you go up against them compared to any other final boss. And its not like you can prepare for them either as the final boss is randomised and not shown. It just limits build creativity as it causes you to only run cleanse healers or poison for damage. Hopefully that boss fight can be tuned to show more weaknesses as other final bosses seem to allow for more variability.

I would love to see this game on steam.
my slice and dice file got restarted. where does stuff get saved and can I get my old one back?
C:\Users\{YOUR_USERNAME}\.prefs
Should be a file named `slice-and-dice-2`, at least for the current version of the game :)
Great game, also think Hexia needs a nerf, haven't uncovered other final bosses other than dragon and hexia, which is extremely difficult without a broken combo. 4.9 stars

i mean its called "unfair"so i don't expect it to be fair honestly

The Demo was great! Sadly I don't have a lotta money right now, but I'll defo buy it when I can!
Where is my achievement for the amount of reinforcements :D: https://gyazo.com/093f0cf99db4f3e86b04a6732ac23d64

The full version should have "modes" on the right of the title screen
Any chance there be a linux port later like a .deb and/or .rpm ?

huge agree-- I absolutely love this game and would probably not be able to put it down if I had it on my iphone. This game is magic.

The more I play this game, the more I love it.
Little advice to everyone, try the raid mode, is just amazing
Love this game. Accidentally bought it twice, but I still think it's worth the money.
Fantastic game. Simple, fun, and amazing art. The Wugtrio approves
people who found this game from fauna's channel, just know that fauna found it from the egg himself
btw this game made me pog out of my gourd

You can also create an account on itch.io which also saves it in a library for later download.
Also, hello fellow Saplings who got sent here by Fauna's playthrough! :>
I'm here because of Ceres Fauna.
Great Game!
Any plans for a Steam release?
Heard about this game from my partner, and got it for my computer. Can I also get it on my mobile device from the same purchase, and if so, how?
If you bought it through here you should have gotten the Android .apk file along with the purchase, you get that onto your Android device and open it up on that to install it as the full app. (There is no iPhone version.)
Is there a way to get that offer the other way around? I just bought it on the google store before I realized there is a PC version. It was my first android purchase in 5+ years, I enjoyed the demo so much.
Created a new script for enabling linux compatability on the macOs jar.
https://pastebin.com/UkKKu7zB
Overhead was greatly reduced and we now merge the linux libs with the dice.jar
Also added stb and opengl libs even though it seems to have ran without them.
Hey man, thanks for posting your script
I'm on Ubuntu 20.04 and the initial dependency download / extraction script runs fine, but when I try to execute run.sh I get:
Any idea on what's wrong?
Sorry for the late reply. been hanging in the discord instead lately.
Can you run it with the following command?
java -Dorg.lwjgl.util.Debug=true -Xmx1g -jar dice-linux.jar
Been watching so much on this game, and am incredibly interested in it. Looked through old posts and saw Steam was on the list of releases, any word on when that might happen? Only reason I'm holding out on buying is to not have to pay twice when the Steam release drops!
Hi, Absolutely fantastic game you've made!
I bought it on my Android and wonder if there is a way to get it to my PC as well? excluding to buy it a second time.
Any plan for translation? or can I translate texts myself?
I love this game, it's a ton of fun on the PC but the Android APK only gives me the demo even though I bought it. Is there something I'm missing?
Check the email you bought the game with, theres a link to the download page there.
Any plans for a color blind mode? Some items are only usable on some hero colors but a heroes color is not stated anywhere on the heroes in plain text. Just a hover over the hero class which said "Student, blue hero" would be enough.
Ups for this. The blue/gray hero dice are also hard to tell apart for me.
Please create an iOS version!!
please build for iOS!
To launch the game:
Proton path run game path
Ex:
/usr/bin/proton run SliceDice/SliceAndDice.exe
Remember to allow the .exe to run as a program
Happy dicing!
Quick script to build/run natively.

Never better version of the script.
