I bought the game in the Google Play store. Is there any way I can get the game on Windows too? Didn't realize I could buy it here for all three files.

(+2)

I am also in this situation.

Made the same mistake

(+3)(-3)

Hey, if I purchased the game on Google Play, is there a way that I can also play it on PC without purchasing it again?

Thank you, the game is fantastic!

(-3)

It won't let me run the game and i'm not sure why. Im on windows and im opening the game inside the Zip like instructed and it won't open.

(+5)

unzip it.

(+2)(-1)

Hello! Played the demo, loved it! Bought the game, doesn't run. Small caveat, I'm running it on Linux XD. Any idea why the demo would run no-problem but I can't get the release to? I understand Linux isn't a supported platform but any help would be most helpful.

(1 edit) (+1)

How are you running it?

I compiled libgdx and ran the macOs jar.
Works well for me.

lwjgl libs can be downloaded from github.

you what? XD, I normally run windows games with Wine using the latest Proton-GE runner, never tried running MacOS jar?????? But I'm about to ...

wait, am I just compiling the java and running it?

You're compiling the dependencies.
Then after that you just add them to the classpath when launching the dice.jar file from the dice-mac.zip

Let me see if i can put together a simple script.

Hacked together a bash script.
You'll need git, wget and unzip installed.

Easier to use script here.

Oh yeah one thing I would like to mention is that I'd ask for you to please take another look at some of the classes and making them more fun.
The balancing seems a little off here sometimes with some of them just seeming straight up worse than most of their peers from the same tier.
Or they're weirdly boring, like the Envoker just having 3 sides and all of them just generate base mana. That seems kinda lame. Also the mushroom guy, I don't really get him, he didn't seem very potent.
Also I feel unless there is a very specific gameplay reason, all heroes should have at least 4 filled out sides by default. Saw a few heroes that had only 3 sides and it's kinda lame to use them if 50% of the time you're not getting anything at all and the chance to get anything useful is even more slim.

Other than that, great game as I said

(+1)(-3)

"unless there is a very specific gameplay reason"

There is, infact, a very specific gameplay reason. That is, if there are fewer sides filled out, there is less of a chance of getting something. "50% of the time you're not getting anything at all" You're rolling dice. That's how dice work. There's chance involved. And also good job noticing that sometimes some things are better than others, you are correct on that point.

(+1)(-1)

Yeah, that's why I said that it's fine if 2 sides or less are not filled out. Never stated I want dice to always yield results and for those results to always be amazing. Not getting any results 50% of the time is not "how dice work", that's not an integral part of their function.

And not sure if you ever heard of "balancing". I'm not argueing for all heroes in the game to be the exact same strength level and to always be OP but I feel that all of them should have some viability within their tier. Of course tier 1 heroes should be weaker than tier 2 etc.

(+1)(-4)

Fun game up til the final bosses where, depending on what classes and items you were offered, it's a completely one-sided fight, one way or another. Not particularly engaging when you roll over them and not fun to watch your characters get disintegrated with 0 real chance of fighting back. Hope to see mod support in the future, seems ripe for making custom classes, items, and enemies.

(+1)

Is there a way to change hero positioning? I just got offered the Mimic and my grey dude was on the bottom row, so now he has a dud die face where he should otherwise have something.  It feels a bit unfair that because I started with a hero in a specific position he's literally just weaker with a certain upgrade path.

Otherwise though this is the perfect public transport game. Dead simple mechanics, absorbing strategy, can be picked up and put down at any time, mountains of replayability, excellent UI. Big fan.

This has surprisingly become my favorite roguelike in recent years. I refused to go get food even though I was hungry because I didn't wanna stop. There is so much content and sooo many cool plays and synergies you can set up, it's insane. On my second run I oneshot the final dragon boss which had me laughing hard. You really have something special here, hope you put it on Steam soon so it gets even more attention. It really deserves it!

(-1)

Great game!

I wanted to let you know however that my Jamf Protect security does not like how the game is launched on mac. Looks like the main executable is run via BASH script, which matches a technique used by malicious actors.

You may want to clean that up.

just came here to say that I love this game, such great execution on what seems like a simple idea hiding a lot of depth and complexity. I feel like a master strategist when a plan comes together and I feel like a greedy moron when I don’t get my rolls, and either way I’m 100% invested. awesome job, thank you for making this.

(+3)(-2)

The most precipitous game I've ever played! The simple systems create an insane amount of depth and it always feels good to beat the odds - which are always against you.

Please add either a 1 cost do nothing/minor bonus to the point buy or allow confirmation with less than the total amount of points. It sucks having to take bonuses/detriments you don't want in order to try to meet the point buy exactly. It gets even worse with the larger point buy difficulties.

Is there a way to sync save files between platforms? ^^

(or at least manually export and import)

(+3)

I really wanna try this game, any plans on bringing to Apple app store?

(1 edit)

Awesome game, just bought!

probably need to think about the name if you want to release this elsewhere, there are similar games under the same name (eg https://store.steampowered.com/app/682340/SliceDice/ )

(+1)

Absolutely top notch game. It's an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys roguelikes where you have to mold limited choices into a tactical plan. This is among the very best of that style of game.

can i sync savedata from android to pc? is it saved in a file somewhere?

You can't sync them, however you can import them to another platform.

Click on the book on the menu and go to the Stat tab. From there you should be on the unlock tab and you can see a button "Copy achievments". It will give you a text that you just have to use in the "Load achivement" button on the device you want.

It will not take your current progress in a dungeon but at least you have all the games modes, heroes, items and monsters that you have unlocked so far

I just beat a Classic Easy Run with the "Level Up Top" Blessing, with TWO TIER 4 HEROS WAAAAAT?!!! The Hero names were "rf−195" (Red Hero) & "b4−880" (Blue Hero)... I'm assuming this was only possible because I skipped 2 upgrades at the beginning by automatically getting a tier 3 Orange Hero (I thought I would just get 2 extra items or NOTHING LOL). However, it was pretty exciting discovering the Tier 4's because I didn't think it was possible... Also, I can't seem to find anything about it on the wiki >_<.  I doubt I am the first to find this! IDK if it was a balance change, bug or secret, either way, this game continues to impress me & suck me in haha having so much fun with it <3 Thx @tann

(+2)

It straight up crashes when I attempt to open it. Just opens and closes no matter what. Tried a renistall and deleting the user data but no go. Bummer! still a neat game though

(1 edit)

I'm having the same problem. I'm on a samsung if it helps

The itch version works but the google play one doesn't

(1 edit)

Crashes when I fullscreen, and because it's set to fullscreen in the options, I can't un-fullscreen it because it crashes on start!!

Can't find where this option is stored persistently to change it outside of in-game options.

(+1)

Weird, that should be a manual save thing. The file to delete is users/xii/.prefs/slice-and-dice-2

Thank you

(+3)

fun!!(:

(+2)

Fantastic game - I've been hooked for the last week. Would love a Borderless Windowed mode!

(+2)(-1)

Hey I've been watching Northernlion play this and I'm super excited to try it out! Have you ever thought of adding a soundtrack? If so feel free to ask me :P I'd love to work on it lol

Any hope of cross platform saves?

you can copy/paste achievements over

(+1)

Best game I played in a while

(+2)

Hey @tann love the game and I was wondering if:

-You are planning to bring the game to Iphone in the future

-If there are any further updates planned or if you are done with the game

I know you probably get asked those questions a lot so sorry about that! Thanks

(+2)

Definitely one of the better games I've played recently.  The game looks nice and has nice sound effects and a ton of variety.  The way the game works is great having your opponent roll first and see what they do and having a chance to respond is really fun trying to optimize the turn.  This game is very difficult and I'm having trouble getting to level 20 even on easy which is a bit frustrating but I get closer the more I play and the more I'm familiar with how things work and the random upgrades and level ups you get.  My only request from the dev is to add the program Icon to the files because right now it's only loaded with the program and shows in the taskbar but it isn't on the file icon in explorer and currently putting it on the desktop looks a bit ugly and unprofessional.  This is the only change I would urge the dev to do to make the game that little more professional.  Otherwise 10/10, everything works well and looks great.  It's a simple game with tons of variety done very well.

This game is insanely good. I am completely addicted.

(+1)(-1)

hello, thanks a lot for your team. This game is really good. I bought it on Google play for my android phone. Is it possible to have a free copy for my computer ?

(2 edits)

Any idea how to make the rolling dice sides not black/untextured?

(+1)

Would appreciate a linux build. For now I'm able to get a hacky solution working however.

Yes, Linux build please!

(+1)

Did you also compile the libgdx and use the macOs jar?
I was thinking of creating a github repo with a wrapper and some instruction.

(1 edit) (+1)

how did you get it to work? I ran the demo no problem but not the release after purchasing it X(
using latest proton GE

(+9)

Get this on steam ASAP please

(3 edits) (+1)

Yeah! Put it on Steam and i will buy it instantly.

*Edit: Bought it anyways :P (Still want it in my Steamlibrary....do it! Just do it!...Please)

Agreed, waiting for it to be on Steam so I can buy it.

Will this come out for IPhone?

I love the game, but: I don't really get why Hexia is so overtuned. I've had runs where I just quit if he shows up on floor 20 rather than the dragon because I know my party won't be able to take him.

Sure the dragon does a lot of damage but aside from the occasional poison it's just raw damage. In comparison, Hexia does slightly less damage with attacks but throws around pain, petrify, counter damage, counter damage on his adds, counter damage when you cast spells, and adds with 12 base hp.

Some of these are hard counters to specific parties and you have no idea what final boss you're going to get.
