For some reason, I've been sitting on giving this game a try for a little bit. But I finally downloaded the demo and made it to Level 8.
First, I think the art design with the larger pixel size is phenomenal. You've done an amazing job putting so much detail and character into a small pixel density. The aesthetic is beautiful and the scrolling background sets a great stage.
Second, the color scheme sets a great tone by being just a bit cool and dark, so it gives everything a calm moody vibe. Loop Hero is very grimdark with its gray and brown color scheme, whereas I think Slice & Dice has a slightly more inviting vibe by using the wider spectrum. Makes for a great experience to play in the dark.
Third, I really enjoy the game loop. It's a simple and clear concept that honestly makes me like the turn-based battle mechanic more than I ever have in classic JRPGs. I usually hate turn-based battle planning, but the dice and re-rolls gives it an angle that keeps me engaged and checking for the best strat.
I think I'll give the demo another go and will very likely be picking up a full copy in the near future.
Looking forward to what else you've got in development as well.
Just tried the demo yesterday. Must admit that it's very addictive. If you would ever like to support additional languages - do not hesitate to write me, I can do Russian translation (translated Bot Vice and Shotgun King).
I've played this game nearly daily for half an year now, still missing three unlocks from cursed run and only now I've come across a game crashing bug:
My leader has a Timestone equipped, which gives Cantrip for the two on the right side. Stun and the boost hammers. When the die lands with the hammer side up, with the cantrip, it crashes instantly. I guess the game doesn't know what to boost as it is the first turn and no dice have been chosen.
bruh you know how many discords people are in on average these days? I have a folder with the majority of mine in it just so i can pop in and check for updates, cause so many projects are "join the discord for updates"
Some enemies need some nerfs to specific attacks, but all-in-all I absolutely adore this game. You've done an excellent job with both the gameplay and the aesthetic.
One of the best aspects is trying new combinations; I won't make suppositions about how easy it is to add new gamemodes, but a custom mode where you pick level III classes and any items would be really fun for some broken gameplay against, say, a boss rush or such.
Honestly, right now the biggest thing I want is for hidden item achievements to be separated from hidden leaderboard achievements. I want to unlock the items and care very little about the leaderboards, so it sucks that I can only see three at a time and most of the time they're leaderboards I need to unlock in order to see the criteria for a new item.
Would rebuy for Steam or Switch, as others have said.
yeah that would be a great thing in the game because sometimes you just dont want to upgrade because you have a better hero or a better combo with a relic
On Android, you long-press on the hero dice to bring up the info box, but it disappears when you let go. Is it possible to make it stay up after a long press and then tap to dismiss it? Sometimes I need to remind myself what the dice sides do before I decide to reroll, and it would be much easier if the info box didn't auto-close after letting go.
Loving the game. Bought it immediately after finishing the demo and can't put it down. Best mobile game I've played in a long time. Thanks!
I've only played the demo so far, but it was really good. It sounds like you're planning on doing a Steam release at some point, and so as a fellow game dev I'd recommend getting that Steam page up ASAP so you can start building wishlists etc. Great work!

I adore the pixelart, the classes, bosses, it's just my type of game! Definitely re-buying if Steam release is ever a thing and if it ever gets on the Switch!!

This game is absolutely fantastic. Take a moment and really feel a sense of satisfaction that you've done a great job thus far, and get excited for what's to come. Not enough people do that. :P

But what I had was just a barebones idea, you took it into space. You have squeezed a lot from a limited design space.
Found this on playstore because of the great pixel art, bought it and felt like I had to come over and gush about how good this game is. This is now one of my all time favorite games for mobile, I cannot praise it enough.
Came for the pixels, stayed for the gameplay, 10/10 would wholeheartedly reccomend.

I sunk about 40 hours into this in a week until I finally beat Unfair. Everything about the game is great except no music and I just want more stuff!
Will there be any more development? The last update appears to be a year ago

Good game! At start i thought was a one more game but playing was one of my favorite games, i only play demo :(

I just made it to floor 112 on Cursed mode, with 23 curses... incredible game and it works so well on mobile, thanks for making something so cool!!
