A fun game for sure! Fun mechanics. But it is severely lacking in some much needed flavor text. Who are the characters? Why should I care? Who are the monsters? I don't even know what monster the archer is supposed to be. Why are we even on this quest in the first place? It just saps a lot of fun when there is seemingly no motive. Even just a sentence or two of flavor text in some places would make this game infinitely better. If you don't want to write or dont like to write, I could do it and you could just implement it! That would be great.

I would also say if you add this stuff, please include a toggle so I can turn it off, and I just want to play the game without have to skip through favour text.

I got this game on Google Play about a year ago and it's the best $5 i have ever spent! So much gameplay options, game modes, character/enemies and items! I was amazed with the amount of modes and Loot, Cursed Hyper and Raid modes are my favorite!!!
Can we expect any update in the future? Awesome game 10/10!!!!

I responded to this as a devlog post :)

Well worth $7, and you get the PC AND Android versions? Sign me tf up.

Tons of replayability. Lots of "one more turn" addictive energy.

Only thing missing is some bangin tunes, but you can always provide your own soundtrack.

Fantastic game with a great amount of content.

If you ever feel like making it even more endlessly replayable, it would be great if the player could choose their own combo of game-type (like shortcut, raid, or blursed) and team-type (standard, custom, or generated).

Amazingly balanced!

I bought this on the Google Play store. It is really fantastic. The game mechanics are wonderful, and there is tremendous variety in the game variants. It's just done incredibly well, from top to bottom. Some of my favorite elements are the Twin class, the Barrel enemy, the vowel modifier, the poison-everyone-who-is-poisoned weapon, the spells that get cheaper each time you cast them.

"No hidden mechanics, everything is visible at all times" and "100 hero classes (+20,000??)" sounds incongruous if I understand the implication correctly.  That's rather frustrating.

(1 edit) (+5)

The "+20,000" is probably about the Mode where Heroes are Randomly generated.

The hidden Mechanics thing is about the Combat not hiding Information, but showing you what the enemies can and will do

This is the only roguelike I've played that always calls me back. It's so far head and shoulders above all the competition it's wild!

(+2)

Amazing game, thank you. Hope there is more slice and dice additions.

I love your game! For the last year and more I'm hypnotized with it! It would ve my honor to do soundtrack for this game! Also, when we can expect bew update? :D

Don't get me wrong, this game is perfect as is, but new content is always good :D

ojala en Swich, Hola desde españa xd

(+3)

You probably heard it many times before but would love to see this on steam. 😅

(+1)

Love this game! How do we get our early backed version to steam?

There is no steam version

(+1)

Anyone know why that is? I think this game would sell pretty big on Steam

(+1)

Was a fantastic game from the first release, and the version 2.0 pushed it to new heights; it has SO MUCH content, so many unlocks - characters, items, custom game modes (which I haven't tried yet, but they definitely add much in terms of replayability)

Only thing missing is some OST, but you can always play something in the background.

Simply love it.

so so addictive

Amazing Game! i’d really love a linux build!

It works flawlessly in proton/wine if that helps anyone

i wasnt able to get it working on proton :’c

If you have issues extracting the software after you download it from itch this approach should fix that:
https://itch.io/post/7130071
I just used steams "add a game" button to add the s&d executable to my steam client then went to settings for that added game and turned on proton support in the comparability section. You could try proton experimental if that doesn't work

I have run the windows .exe as a custom launched game on steam using proton.

Hi Guys!

Just being curious, when will new update come with new items and maybe classes? If not secret or or at least hints? ;)

Game is so great, I can't stop play it at least once a day!

(+3)

This is without a doubt the best game that has ever been on my android phone. I like it so much that when I recommend it and people don't seem too interested I offer to pay for it just so someone else can experience this game

(1 edit) (+1)

Ok so I decided to update my review because I need to. This game at first to me just felt too much luck. But after a long and rickety process I think I can say now this is a good game. I think there could be some improvements, but mostly just little nitpicks. All in all you made a really good game. I also am a huge sucker for pixel graphics so that's another plus for me.

Hi! This is such a cool game! Why didnt you publish it on Steam?

(+1)

Was wondering the same thing

(1 edit) (+1)

Hello. I think your game is a banger, bought it for Android and it's saving my sanity in my long trips to the city.

I have a friend who I think would greatly enjoy and appreciate Slice and Dice, but has only iOS. Do you have any plans on an iOS release?

Thank you for your time and effort.

I bought and installed the 2.0.0 version of this game. Recently play store said the newest version 2.0.1 came out.

Is there a patch note, change log or something?

They are the same

This game has single handily given me a really bad addiction really quick... its sooooooo good.

Played the first 7 levels of the demo and after the mechanics started to click with me paid for the full game becuase I knew this was going to be my new time waster on my phone :3

I love the dice mechanics, I love the way you level up and the way items can effect the dice and the ability's they offer you.

and love that if I'm in the middle of a roll and I need to close it to do something else. it will pick back up with the dice roll you made when you reopen the game and continue.

this game seems stunningly simple, yet it's very deeply complex. :3

Hey, guys. I'm really enjoying the game and Blursed is my favorite mode rn. But I have an issue I think.

When I unlocked all modes, characters, items and etc. through special option, it didn't unlock T10 items and higher in Pick mode. Is there any ways to open them?

I'm playing on Android and bought full version of the game.

(+2)

i stayed up an extra 2 hours playing this when i was supposed to be in bed >.< too fun

(+3)

Quick note, am on Android, Frail Edges curse (damage x2 top and bottom if not shielded this turn) doesn't take into consideration Preparation blessing which shields you at the beginning of the first turn.

(1 edit) (+1)(-14)

Your reasoning for not letting rerolls beyond 1 is insane. Just let us count it as a loss and reroll. I need specific curses to help with some unlocks but for some psychopathic reason I cant.

(+4)

Hi Tann, i’m really eager to play your game. Gameplay mechanics are really well thoughts, and innovative. Any plan to release it on iOS ? Thanks for your answer

(+1)

Is it possible you can make a endless mode ... Not the cursed or blursed modes, just a endless mode that goes on until you can't ... otherwise I don't think I can have to much more fun in this ... I will say the raid mode is my favorite rn because of the big party.

The big problem is that that kind of "endless mode" requires limitless difficulty escalation. The encounters in the game seem to be hardcoded (ie, there's one at a specific level with a Bramble and a Rat, rather than Bramble and Rat being random enemies that can be paired in any arbitrary encounter). The Lich always comes with some Bones and not Imps or Slates or whatever, because that's what the Lich encounter has. And so on.

Maybe the game could add enemies from different encounters together, e.g. Level 21 could have a level 13 encounter added to a level 7 encounter or something, then 22 does 14 and 8, etc. But that seems pretty hard to balance or playtest; it could probably work when both encounters are straightforward, but plenty have special design gimmicks that might not interact straightforwardly.

why is it the demo when i bought the full version and using the full version download link

(+4)

demo is a mode in the full game, click “modes” on the title screen

question: is it possible to transfer saves over from the demo to the full game?

(+3)(-1)

one of the best games ever made!!! i

(+8)

I'm a roguelike completionist and a game designer, and I dreamt of exactly this game for years.

I'm so happy that you made it and made it so well. This was a blast to 100% (well, i'm still missing a secret achievement, could it be related to the "error" enemy?).

Please give the maker of this game your money, they deserve it!

(+3)

I enjoyed the free version a lot so I bought the full version and enjoyed it even more! The game is casually addictive and random in a good way. Various game modes and challenges are very entertaining.

(+2)

This game is more addicting than coffee - and that's saying something! Kudos to the developers for keeping me up all night.
