I was wondering, if/when the steam version releases, will the owners of the itch.io version get access to it or will they need to repurchase?

Loving the game on Windows so far! Would happily pay again for an iOS version.

The Windows demo .zip file for this game seems to be malformed.  Rather than the presumably intended directory structure, the .zip archive instead contains a few empty directories and a bunch of files in the root of the archive, most of which contain the "\" (Windows directory delimiter) character.  I don't know whether the .zip file would decompress as expected (i.e., with a directory structure) on Windows or not, but it doesn't decompress as expected on Linux.

Attached is a screenshot to illustrate the issue:

Compare this to the Mac zip file, which does not have the same issue:

I had this same issue, though I'm on linux (running it in wine) and I thought maybe that was the issue.  Interesting that it's happening to you too.  A solution/workaround I found was to use a command-line unzip tool.  This preserved the directory structure as intended.  I did try 2 seperate gui extractors and they did the same garbage to the contents.

Is there a way to transfer saves from PC to Android?

Yes, check book-stats-unlocks

Feedback regarding unlocks.

I love the unlocks that I get from achievements but personally, I wish there was one for beating the game because that stands out to me as a momentous occasion. I just did it my first time, I used custom party.

Amazing game. Some fun combos I've found:

Twin Daggers + Blue Skink copying Valkyrie. Hexia never stood a chance... Also got me the 4-revive achievement.

Siphon + Poseidon's Trident. Works best with Enchanter, but any side that "Adds self-shield/self-heal" will serve to get your engine going, Twins are also a plus

Damage combos? What are they?

Fun game, worth the price. Give the demo a shot and you'll get hooked.

also haha hammer go brrrr

This game feels like the developer forgot to add neutralizer. Many mechanics feel broken but they work precisely as they are described in the notes.

(+3)

Is there any eta on the iOS version? No pressure of course, super excited for it.

(+2)

Sometimes I come across a game where I wish I had come up with the idea, this was one of those kudos for the design. I wonder why you didn't release the game on steam, it would work there as well I am confident

(+1)

I got introduced to the game through Northernlion and I got to say this is by far my most favourite roguelite this year. Easy to get into, highly replayable and enjoyable, well worth it's price!

There’s been a lot of spam and nfsw comments recently so I’m disabling comments for now… Maybe I’ll try re-enabling in a few weeks.

(+1)

Or days, let’s see how it goes.

(+1)

rip still getting spammed, will re-enable some time

(+1)

Trying again now

(1 edit)

good game, bought and played it. somehow got it to run the first time. now i can't get it to run. so be weary - edit - redownloaded and got it to run, lost all progress

(+3)

Very addictive roguelite. Found on Northernlion's stream

I'd but it if it would have let me

(+4)

I would love to see this game on steam.

(+2)

my slice and dice file got restarted. where does stuff get saved and can I get my old one back?

(1 edit)

C:\Users\{YOUR_USERNAME}\.prefs
Should be a file named `slice-and-dice-2`, at least for the current version of the game :)

(+2)(-1)

Great game, also think Hexia needs a nerf, haven't uncovered other final bosses other than dragon and hexia, which is extremely difficult without a broken combo. 4.9 stars

(+3)

I love this game and have put so many hours in to it... its crazy... there are so many awesome decision making moments and opportunities that are easy to miss but if you find them... just wow its so fun.

Hexia is way way too hard though, just absurdly difficult compared to any other option. She starts with way too many enemies and her skills are all so much more impactful than any other final boss... summoning a demon is just such a game ender and why does she get to deal so much damage to you with just her passives? I've really lost so many good hard mode runs just because I keep running in to hexia, I have the hard mode clear unlocked on pc because I totally steamrolled through a dragon on my first attempt... gotten three awesome runs in a row to final boss on hard mode and I get shut down instantly by hexia... inflict pain, 4 petrify, summoning a DEMON when she already starts with 4 imps and they like to summon bones... my issues with hexia have taken up more words than my glowing review of this astounding game that you NEED to own if you've ever even glanced in the direction of a dice game and felt even mildly interested.

Basically you need this game, and eff hexia, if you fight her and win, celebrate.

(-4)

don't block me I just want to give some advice, in my opinion the balancing mode should be reviewed, so as to play at least 2/3 levels, otherwise it doesn't represent a "real session" of the game, some of the player can get defeat in some of the previous level in a classic run

great game except for unfair, which sucks complete cock and is completely RNG-dependent; average run has you getting washed before level 10 and even with a crazy good build and items you're 99% going to get trashed on round ~15 by some arbitrary bullshit like a 7-mob fight that has 2 alphas w/ stone health and monster HP+++.

everything else is awesome but unfair needs a nerf; and no, it doesn't matter if the point is that it's supposed to be like that, because the way it is isn't fun.

(+1)

i mean its called "unfair"so i don't expect it to be fair honestly

This game is amazing! It is quite simple and the flow of user interactions is very smooth and streamlined. Nevertheless it has a surprising depth in gameplay and requires tactical and combinatorial thinking to be able to complete a full run - that and some plain old luck. The user interface initially looks a bit wacky but it turns out to be extremely clear, with colors and precise wording communicating all the important facts. Me and my son have a lot of fun playing this game, actually more than I expected. A gem of a tactical dice game. Huge respect to the developers. And special thanks for making it available on several platforms.

Was enjoying the game but found the moments where the game decides to explicitly tell you you're enjoying the game wrong to be extremely condescending and annoying. e.g. when you try to refresh curses.

It's ok to design games with a specific experience in mind - but why even include the button if you're just going to call the user dumb for clicking on it, & give them a little bit of homework to make the button work again. Seems in extremely poor taste.

How to inteprete Poet sprite:
a) Dude with nose in the books
b) Dude in weird square helmet
c) Dude in bell like helmet
d) some weird pop-culture reference I don't understand

Please help, I can't sleep because of that.

it was also very confusing to me but then I watched a movie called Strawberry Mansion and I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to that. Great movie, I’d recommend watching :)

The Demo was great! Sadly I don't have a lotta money  right now, but I'll defo buy it when I can!

Where is my achievement for the amount of reinforcements :D: https://gyazo.com/093f0cf99db4f3e86b04a6732ac23d64

I played the demo and then purchased the game. I deleted all demo files, but when I open the purchased download it still says demo when I launch the game. Anyone else have this issue?

(+1)

The full version should have "modes" on the right of the title screen

Any chance there be a linux port later like a .deb and/or .rpm ?

(+2)

amazing game dude! Hope you re working on iOS version cause I hate asking my wife for her work phone to play this.. I want to play it from my couch and bed! Hail the master

(+5)

I stg I check back every day to see if it’s been released for iOS. Tann, you’ve created something really special here, and I know you’re hard at work for patches and updates and everything, so I just want to say, keep up the good work.

(+2)

huge agree-- I absolutely love this game and would probably not be able to put it down if I had it on my iphone. This game is magic.

(+2)

Awesome game! I've long itched for great mobile games to play on the go, and this game absolutely fits that. It's been a blast to progressively get better and play harder difficulties (and curses) and is _so_ easy to pick up and put down.

Something that I was also astounded by is the polish. At first, I saw it in simple interactions like omitting turn confirmations for non-effective moves, but over time there were more and more nice polishes that just makes the experience even better.

I was sitting with a friend who watched Northernlion play which got us both hooked.

(+1)

I love your game! I bought it on mobile a few months ago and I´m still playing it consistently now. It´s amazing to see all the different combinations and builds you can achieve with the wide variety of characters and items you can find.

One of the best, if not THE best phone game I have ever played.

Interesting game! I'll wishlist for playing soon.

Amazing game. Both me and my son played the demo, on Windows and on (ungoogled) Android, and I just bought the full version for both of us. Respect for making a cross platform game and providing an APK for simple installation.

All hail the great egg bringer of pogs

Finally beat Unfair after ~20 consecutive losses. What a ride.

It's crazy when I saw how some managed to streak on Unfair!?

Awesome game. It's great how many OP combinations there are, for both the player and enemies. Small enemies+ is deceptively a run killer for example, if you end up fighting a gravestone.

Looking forward to updates!

(1 edit) (+3)

I just got a draw against Hexia, literally rolling dice on my last guy (A wanderer), hoping I could roll two 2/6 chances at his "Era" Attack (The only thing he could do that could do enough damage to kill the last enemy)...And got it on the last possible turn with Pain on it.  XD  In a final boss battle with multiple heroic sacrifices, it ended with one final one!

The more I play this game, the more I love it.

Little advice to everyone, try the raid mode, is just amazing

(+1)

Love this game.  Accidentally bought it twice, but I still think it's worth the money.

Fantastic game. Simple, fun, and amazing art. The Wugtrio approves
